Coach Trever Penny

Glendale Preparatory Academy would like to extend a sincere thank you to Coach Addicott for his leadership and dedication to the football program. His commitment to student-athletes and the growth of the program has left a lasting impact on Glendale Prep athletics.

We are proud to announce Trever Penny as the new Head Coach of the Glendale Prep Football Program.

Coach Penny’s journey with GP began as a school volunteer, with no initial intention of coaching. Wanting simply to support a program that played such a meaningful role in his own development, he stepped in to help create the same opportunities for students at his children’s school. When Coach Addicott later invited him to join the staff as a special teams assistant coach, Coach Penny admits he was hesitant. However, by learning from fellow coaches and taking coaching classes, he quickly developed a passion for coaching. 

Coach Penny’s love for football began at the age of eleven on his very first day playing the sport. After taking a hard hit that knocked the wind out of him, he remembers looking up at his father and being asked if he was done. His answer was a firm “no.” That moment set the tone for his football journey, which included four years at Taft Union High School, and a year at Taft Junior College.

Over the past seven years, Coach Penny has served Glendale Prep as the special teams coach and, for the past two years, as the equipment manager. His long-standing dedication reflects both his commitment to the program and his belief in the values of Glendale Prep athletics.

Coach Penny also brings a strong personal connection to the school community. All three of his children attended Archway Glendale and graduated from Glendale Preparatory Academy, further strengthening his investment in the school and its mission.
